Financing Study Abroad
Our goal is to make semester and yearlong programs economically accessible for 囊状态 students of all backgrounds. For Direct Exchange and CSU-IP programs, FAFSA can be used to help cover the cost of studying abroad. 另外, there are a variety of 萨克拉门托 State, 国家, and location-specific scholarships available. A selection of these scholarships is listed below. Please contact our office if you would like help with your application.

There are many scholarship opportunities for students interested in studying abroad.
Please ensure that you mark the checkbox indicating 'I am interested/planning to study abroad' on the 萨克拉门托 State Scholarship Portal. This will grant you access to a comprehensive list of scholarships available for the study abroad programs.
National 奖学金
Benjamin A Gilman Inter国家 Scholarship Program - Open to ALL undergraduate US citizens who receive a federal Pell grant. No minimum program length required. Additional eligibility requirements may apply, please check the website for more details.
NSEP Boren Scholarship/Fellowship - Undergraduate and graduate students committed to long-term, overseas immersive language study and to public service. Boren Scholars and Fellows receive funding to study the languages and cultures most critical to our nation's security. 作为交换, they agree to utilize those skills within the government by seeking and securing employment with the federal government or related work for at least one year.
Critical Language Scholarship - The Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Program is a summer study abroad opportunity for American college and university students to learn languages essential to America’s engagement with the world. Open to all students interested in learning a designated "critical language" by the US State Department.
Gilman-McCain Scholarship - Open to child dependents of active duty service members to study or intern abroad on credit-bearing programs who receive any type of Title IV federal financial aid. Additional eligibility requirements may apply, please check the website for more details.
Fund for Education Abroad - Open to undergraduate US citizens or permanent residents studying abroad for at least four weeks. Additional eligibility requirements may apply, please check the website for more details.
Freeman-Asia: Awards for Study in Asia - Open to undergraduate US citizens or permanent residents who will be studying abroad in an Asian country for at least 8 weeks. Students must have a 2.8或更高的GPA. Additional eligibility requirements may apply, please check the website for more details.
Frederick Douglass Scholars Grant - Open to undergraduate US citizens or permanent residents who attend a summer or semester based program through CIEE.
Hostelling Inter国家 探索 the World Travel 奖学金 - Open to US citizens or permanent residents with financial need between the ages of 18-30. Additional eligibility requirements may apply, please check the website for more details.
Ashley Soule Conroy Foundation Scholarship - Open to US citizens studying abroad for 14 weeks or more, must be sophomore standing or higher with a 3.平均绩点0或更高. Additional eligibility requirements may apply, please check the website for more details.
Diverse Inter国家 Women of Color - Open to women of color but not limited to Black, Native American, Latina and Asian. Student must have a 2.7 GPA或以上. Additional requirements may apply, please check the website for more details.
Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grants - Open to undergraduate students attending an institution with an active Phi Kappa Phi chapter. Students must have a 3.平均绩点75或以上. Additional eligibility requirements may apply, please check the website for more details.
